At ALIM, our dedicated team is the driving force behind our monthly book club, operations, outreach, Frames segment, and marketing efforts. Led by a group of passionate individuals who are committed to promoting literacy and cultural awareness, our team works tirelessly to curate thought-provoking book selections, plan engaging discussions, and ensure the smooth operation of our programs. Additionally, our outreach director works tirelessly to spread the word about ALIM and attract new members, while our marketing director creates eye-catching content to raise awareness about our mission. With their hard work and dedication, our team is making a real impact in our community and beyond.
Whitney Terrill is ALIM's Book Club Coordinator. She has a deep appreciation for reading with a scholar like Ustadh Ubaydullah and other book club members. Through these monthly conversations, Whitney enjoys ways the dnyamic group conversations explore topics in Islam and current topics in the Muslim community. She is excited to contribute as ALIM's book club coordinator. In addition to being an avid reader, Whitney has experience designing, coordinating, and facilitating community-based programming and partnerships for organizations and faith communities. Whitney also brings her training as a sociologist and her professional experience In both public and private sectors. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, she received her undergraduate degree from Hampton University (VA) and an executive certificate in conservation and environmental sustainability from Columbia University (NY).

Yusuf Hassabelnaby is ALIM's Outreach Coordinator. He brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to serving the Muslim community through his extensive involvement in various prominent organizations. Yusuf is a current senior at the University of Kentucky, majoring in accounting with a minor in Islamic Studies. A former 2023 AlLIMni and Facilitator for the 2024 Cohort, Yusuf arrives with a solid background working with the MSA’s across the nation, MAS Youth, and Islamic Relief USA. Yusuf has played a crucial role in organizing impactful programs, fostering meaningful connections, and advocating for the empowerment of the youth and broader Muslim community. His passion for community service and his dedication to educational and spiritual growth make him an invaluable addition to our team. In his new role at ALIM, Yusuf will be instrumental in expanding our outreach efforts, engaging with communities across the country, and ensuring that ALIM’s mission of education, empowerment, and excellence reaches every corner of the Muslim Ummah.

Alimat Diallo Mahmoud is ALIM's Operations Coordinator for the ALIM Summer Program. A Togolese and Ghanaian American who was born in Togo, raised in New Jersey, currently living in NY. She graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Biology and International Relations. After graduating she relocated to Malaysia for 2 years where she pursued the Islamic Sciences with Arees Institute. She also attended classes at CASIS, Al Furqan Academy, and local halaqahs. Now residing in New Jersey, Alimat was working as the leading medical scribe for an urgent care in the Bronx. She is currently continuing her Islamic studies education through Rabata's academic wing, Ribaat. She first attended ALIM in 2019 and was inspired by the scholarship and community. She returned as a Sister's Facilitator and attended rigorous Islamic Science courses with students before joining as the Operations Coordinator, where she mentored the facilitators for the following year.

Aishah Darboe is the Frames Coordinator for ALIM's dynamic monthly segment, where the esteemed ALIM Resident Scholar Ustadh Ubaydullah Evans leads live discussions with influential scholars from across the country. A proud 2019 ALIMni, Aishah holds a bachelor's degree in Urban Studies with a specialization in Urban and Community Health from Rhodes College. With a passion for community service, she has dedicated her time to volunteering at her local mosque and with nonprofit organizations that serve the Muslim community, contributing to the planning and promotion of meaningful community events.

Mayssa Nour Masri is ALIM's Marketing Director. She's a Syrian-American digital marketing professional and consultant with over a decade of experience in digital strategy. Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Digital Strategy, Mayssa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a double major in Journalism and Communication Studies from Wayne State University, as well as a post-graduate certification in digital marketing. She is a freelance digital marketer who specializes in serving nonprofit organizations and is dedicated to promoting social justice activism and sharing the message of Islam through her work.
